About Us
You are browsing one of the Econome à Légumes specialist sites
Whether you are a horticultural professional or a passionate home grower, you have landed on one of the many specialist sites of Econome à Légumes, the commercial brand of SARL Négo-Agro, a company founded by Valentin Cantaux and Nicolas Mavet, based in Bletterans (Jura, France).
Our business: supplying plants, bulbs, crowns, seeds and propagation material at direct grower prices — to horticultural professionals (market gardeners, nurserymen, horticulturists, arborists, cooperatives, resellers) and to demanding private buyers who expect professional quality for their projects.
Our model: specialisation by crop
The propagation material market is fragmented. Each crop has its own technical requirements, planting windows, quality standards and certifications. A generalist catalogue cannot address these seriously.
This is the founding principle of Négo-Agro: one dedicated site per crop, each designed to provide precise and operational information, crop by crop — whether you are planning a commercial-scale planting or a garden project.
The result: numerous specialist sites covering soft fruit plants, strawberries, kiwis, citrus, fruit trees, vegetable bulbs, market garden plants, ornamentals, microgreens, and further crops in development. The full range is presented at economealegumes.fr.
Short supply chain and grower prices
Our network draws on over 600 listed growers and nurseries, primarily in France and across Europe. We negotiate directly, without distribution intermediaries.
This model delivers three direct benefits for our customers:
- Competitive pricing — intermediary margins are eliminated and the saving is passed through to the customer's purchase price.
- Better quality on delivery — plants are dispatched directly from the grower, with no intermediate storage.
- Controlled traceability — every batch is identified at source, with the relevant regulatory documents included according to the crop.
Organic, untreated and conventional supply
Depending on the crop and availability, we offer propagation material grown organically, without treatment, and conventionally. The aim is to meet the needs of every customer — whether you run a certified organic operation, are in conversion, or simply want a quality plant.
In all cases, the quality of the propagation material is our primary selection criterion.
Logistics adapted to living plant material
Living plant material cannot be handled like standard goods. Our shipments are scheduled within calendar windows aligned with planting cycles, using dry or temperature-controlled transport depending on species and weather conditions. We deliver across France, throughout the Schengen area, and outside Schengen on request. Logistics details specific to each crop are set out directly on the relevant site.
The team
Négo-Agro is driven by a team of professionals in horticulture and agricultural trade — versatile, responsive, and well-versed in the technical constraints of each crop we cover. We work in French, English and Spanish.
