Information on planting and harvesting pomegranate trees

General information on planting and harvesting pomegranate trees:

  • Pomegranate trees are planted mainly in spring, ideally in February-March, but can extend into April due to the late start of vegetation. Planting in autumn (November-December) is also possible. It is best to plant in spring in areas prone to severe winter frosts.
  • Pomegranate harvesting generally takes place between the end of August for the earliest varieties and mid-November for the latest.

Specific harvest periods by variety:

  • Acco Pomegranate: Harvesting usually begins in mid-September and continues until mid-October.
  • Fleshmann Grenadier: Harvesting begins at the end of September.
  • Hermione Pomegranate: The fruits are harvested from mid to late October, making it a late variety.
  • Mollar de Elche pomegranate: The fruits begin to ripen in October and November. The fruiting period is between mid-October and mid-November.
  • Pomegranate Provence Douce: The harvest period extends from the end of September to mid-November.
  • Seedless Pomegranate: The fruits are ready to be harvested from mid-October, making it a late variety.
  • Vkushny Pomegranate: The fruits can be harvested from the beginning of October, making it a mid-season variety.
  • Wonderful Pomegranate: Harvest takes place between late September and late October.
